Homewood Grove Case Study: Vivian Nell

In March 2025, Vivien Nell (81) moved into her brand-new, contemporary apartment at Homewood Grove in Chertsey, Surrey. She was previously living in a flat in Sutton but it lacked a community feel which Vivien, and her family, were keen for her to immersed in.

Vivien says: “I’m extremely happy and well settled here. My apartment instantly felt like my home which was great. My family luckily live very nearby and were waiting for the village to open. I knew I didn’t want to rent so Homewood Grove was the perfect option and ideally located. The garden views from my balcony are absolutely amazing. The landscape is always changing throughout the year, it’s a joy to watch. I’m so impressed with the gardeners.”

Community spirit is at the heart of the flourishing village. Vivien adds: “Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming. The village team are always happy to help which is a lovely comfort. I’m just really looking forward to more owners moving in, I think it will create an even livelier buzz. My friends here are fantastic, I feel connected to the community and part of something special.”

Owners at Homewood Grove have access to a wealth of wonderful amenities, classes and hobby groups available to them.

Vivien comments: “Moving to the village has completely changed my lifestyle, everyone says I look five years younger and so much happier. I’ve been enjoying taking part in the exercise classes and crafting groups. There is an owner-led card evening being organised at the moment too which I’m looking forward to. I like to be in the outdoors too when staying active. I’ve enjoyed putting on the putting green with my lovely friends. I really like table tennis too.”

“It’s been fabulous to have my family over for the events hosted at the village. The Spanish-themed evening hosted at Oak and Honey [the village’s on-site restaurant, bar and lounge] was a particular stand out. There is a race night and Italian-themed evening coming up soon.”

Vivien highlights that she did find the move “challenging” however it was “entirely worth it.”

She adds: “Homewood Grove was the best choice for me. Not only are my family close by, I no longer feel lonely or isolated like I began to feel in my last property. I feel very content here.”
