Mickle Hill Host Open House with York Radio Mix and Martin House

On 10th June, Mickle Hill in Pickering, North Yorkshire, hosted an Open House at the village in collaboration with York Radio Mix and Martin House, a local charity supporting children with life shortening illnesses and their families.

York Radio Mix broadcasted their show live from Mickle Hill to raise the profile of fundraising for Martin House, one of the village’s chosen charities to support throughout 2026. During the show, residents were exclusively interviewed as well as Gillian Green, Village Manager and Tina Cox, Activities Co-Ordinator.

As part of the Open House, a range of activities were presented by the Mickle Hill team to help fundraise during the event; this included a quiz, raffle and guess the sweets in the jar. There was also a choir performance by the Mickleodeons in addition to refreshments and cake.

Gillian Green, Village Manager at Mickle Hill, comments: “It’s been an honour for York Radio Mix to host their show here today, interview some of our owners and help raise awareness of Martin House. Fundraising is something we are all very passionate about at Mickle Hill so events like today’s Open House really bring the community together. The atmosphere throughout the village has been wonderful. All our owners are proud to be associated with our local charities and Martin House is one we will continue to support this year and beyond.”
