A retirement village company with a site in Cirencester has unveiled two new celebrity ambassadors from the area.
Rangeford Villages, which operates Siddington Park in Cirencester, has announced the appointment of Dr Dawn Harper and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.
GP Dr Dawn, known for her work on Channel 4 TV show Embarrassing Bodies, has taken up a new role as Rangeford’s health and wellbeing ambassador.
Meanwhile, Mr Llewelyn-Bowen – an interior designer known for his work on the BBC TV programme Changing Rooms – is the company’s new design curator.
Both live near Cirencester.
Dr Dawn was recently at Siddington Park interviewing some of the owners about healthy longevity and their top tips.
For her bestselling book Live Well to 101, she travelled around the world’s ‘blue zones’, interviewing centenarians about how they have remained healthy to 100 and beyond.
Mr Llewelyn-Bowen brings his creativity and maximalist approach to Rangeford’s developments.
July saw him open his first Rangeford design – a two-bed apartment at Siddington Park.
Mr Llewelyn-Bowen said: “As you get older, you must not stop being brave, you must not compromise and you must not think: ‘I’m old now, so I’d better turn down the volume.’
“Rangeford has proven it’s about keeping the volume up, keeping up the rock ‘n’ roll and keeping the excitement.
“Design is there to help.
“It is there to make you feel a lot better about who you are, where you are and how you live.
“This collaboration is the perfect example of that.”
Dr Dawn said: “People who were born before cars became popular, before ultra-processed and fast food and when families thrived together in a close, supportive community had a far healthier lifestyle.
“They used to walk to get around, they cooked fresh, seasonal food and they regularly engaged at mealtimes with family and friends all around one table.
“They were social and connected.
“Rangeford excels in my opinion at ensuring these back-to-basics values are prevalent throughout all it offers people living in its villages.
“It offers delicious, healthy nutrition in its restaurants, extensive cutting-edge wellbeing facilities and programmes and plenty of social engagement in its communities.
“I am delighted to be an ambassador for Rangeford and am looking forward to championing some exciting new health and wellbeing initiatives to further enhance its already-exceptional standards.”
