Rangeford Villages appoint new head of health, safety and environment, Emma Snelling

Rangeford Villages continue to expand their specialist team with the appointment of Emma Snelling, as Head of Health, Safety and Environment. Emma will work across all five of its current later-living developments for the over 60s in the UK.

Emma has 18 years previous experience in the health and safety industry across diverse sectors such as leisure, facilities management, and for the last 3 years, in the integrated retirement community (IRC) living sector. During this time, Emma has developed a comprehensive skill set in risk assessment, regulatory compliance and team co-ordination, while fostering a culture of safety and well-being skills, which she hopes to bring to her new role at Rangeford.

Rangeford Villages previously outsourced the role of Health and Safety compliance to a 3rd party supplier and Emma will now be responsible for managing the role in-house. She plans to hit the ground running, to ensure consistency in health and safety standard across all Rangeford Villages’ to make sure each village is fully compliant and bringing every village up to ISO45001 accreditation standard.

Speaking about her new role, Emma says: “I am very much a people person and I’m also very pragmatic and, I like to think approachable. I am looking forward to building relationships and getting to know the villages and meeting the teams that make the magic happen. By engaging with staff and stakeholders, I will be able to identify the current procedures and explore opportunities to simplify processes. This will not only enhance sustainability and efficiency but also prioritise safety for everyone involved.  Collaborative working will lead to innovative solutions that benefit the entire community, ensuring that everyone feels valued and empowered in their roles.”

David Kanarens, Head of Operations at Rangeford Villages commented: “The health and safety of our owners, staff and visitors is a top priority for us. We are delighted to be able to bring this role in house, and we extremely pleased to have appointed someone as high calibre as Emma with her extensive skill set in the health and safety sector to undertake the role. We very much looking forward to working alongside her.”

The expansion of Rangeford Villages has resulted in the creation of a number of integrated retirement communities across the UK: Wadswick Green in Wiltshire, Siddington Park in Gloucestershire, Mickle Hill in North Yorkshire, Homewood Grove in Surrey and Strawberry Fields in Cambridgeshire, with further developments in the pipeline including Elstree in Boreham Wood, Hertfordshire.

In addition to high quality homes and specially designed services to provide additional support, owners benefit from an impressive array of on-site communal facilities, and at most villages this includes a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym, spa and hair salon. Additional features include a relaxed all-day dining restaurant. Communal activities and events will take place all year around for owners to encourage an active lifestyle and socialisation.
