If you need a little extra support to make the most of life at Rangeford, our village-based CQC registered Care team, plus Concierge and Housekeeping support teams are available to help. Whether that is with laundry and ironing, arranging appointments and transport, or if you need support with personal care, we can tailor a plan just for you and your individual needs.

PERSONAL CARE PLAN
Information from the assessment will be used to create your Personal Care Plan. This outlines your care needs, the outcomes you want to achieve, and takes account of your wishes and preferences in relation to the way in which care is provided and your chosen lifestyle.
Our Care Assistants will take time to understand your plan so that they can ensure the service they deliver to you is just as you need and expect. To make sure your needs are accurately reflected in your plan, we will review your requirements every six months, or whenever there is a change in your circumstances.
PRE PURCHASE MEETING
Before you decide to engage with our services, we will have a comprehensive discussion with you to understand your personal requirements fully. This ensures that our service is tailored exclusively to meet your individual needs. Our discussion will cover various aspects, including personal care and physical wellbeing, family involvement and social contacts, sight, hearing, and communication needs, continence management, mobility, dexterity, and any required aids or equipment, medication management, personal safety and risk assessment, condition-related needs and potential specialist input, dietary requirements and preferences, social interests, religious and cultural needs, practical household services, as well as details regarding our contract and fees.
This thorough assessment allows us to provide you with the most suitable and personalised care plan.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US
Our Care Assistants are dedicated to providing reliable, personalised care in line with your preferences and Personal Care Plan. Decisions are made collaboratively, with respect for your autonomy and dignity. We prioritise courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to your individual needs and background, ensuring a comfortable and respectful experience. We aim for consistency by assigning the same Care Assistant whenever possible and prioritise your comfort and well-being during each visit.
AUTONOMY & INDEPENDENCE
We will always respect your decisions in relation to your own life and we will provide information, assistance and support where needed to maintain your independence. Care Assistants will carry out tasks in a way which maximises your independence. You will be kept fully informed about the service you receive and will be provided with information in an appropriate format. We will never put any limitations on your lifestyle or human rights unless it is to prevent self-harm, self-neglect, abuse or harm to others and in line with our legal responsibilities.

PERSONAL RECORDS & CONFIDENTIALITY
Whenever a Care Assistant aids you at home, they maintain detailed records of activities and events, including medication administration details. These records, accessible to you and your representatives, are securely stored at Rangeford Care’s office.
At Rangeford Villages and Care, strict confidentiality is maintained regarding personal information, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation. Colleagues undergo training on confidentiality protocols and information sharing practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
OUR STAFF TEAM
Recruitment & selection
At Rangeford Care we have a rigorous recruitment and selection procedure, which meets the requirements of legislation, equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice. In particular we look for staff with the right skills and attitude and always check qualifications, take up written references and undertake police checks.
Training & development
Our structured induction and training program ensures our team's skill development. Care Assistants shadow experienced colleagues before taking on personal care duties independently. We provide thorough training on Health and Safety, including manual handling, with ongoing reviews during annual appraisals.
Supervision
Care Assistants receive regular supervision and annual practice appraisals. Formal meetings with their manager occur regularly. We conduct direct observations of care delivery in clients' homes, seeking permission beforehand. Staff undergo annual appraisals to review performance and identify ongoing training needs.
Requirements of the job
All Managers, Care Assistants and other staff carry out their roles in accordance with the Rangeford Care Employee Handbook. All of our staff will be smartly presented, wear a Rangeford Care uniform and a name badge. Care assistants are aware of the activities which they should and should not undertake, and know what is required of them in their roles.
Qualifications
All our Care Assistants are competent to undertake the activities for which they are employed and responsible. Newly appointed Care Assistants who do not hold a relevant care qualification are required to demonstrate their competence and register for a relevant qualification in health and social care within the first six months of employment.
