Festive Spirit Shines Bright with Rangeford Villages

With the festive season officially underway, Rangeford Villages has welcomed Christmas this year with an array of exciting events and activities across its retirement villages for the over 60s; Wadswick Green in Wiltshire, Siddington Park in Cirencester, Homewood Grove in Surrey, Strawberry Fields in Cambridgeshire and Mickle Hill in North Yorkshire.

According to Age UK, many older people worry about the winter months and the loneliness they can bring. Rangeford work hard to ensure their owners feel included and have a place to belong, surrounded by likeminded people in an engaging environment; Christmas is no exception.

Christmas spirit is a plenty at Wadswick Green. From the annual Christmas Fair hosted at the village and Christmas jumper day to a carol service at The Greenhouse, the village’s scrumptious restaurant, there is so much planned for the owners this festive season. As Rangeford consistently integrates their villages into the local community, Wadswick Green owners will also be visiting a local school to watch a dress rehearsal of their Christmas show and take part in the Corsham Food Bank collection.

In addition to a celebratory Christmas party and trip to nearby Sudley Castle, Siddington Park is seeing 2025 out in style and welcoming a prosperous 2026 with its New Year’s Eve ‘The Golden Age of Glamour’ party that is open to both owners and the local community. An exquisite four course meal paired with an evening of live music can be enjoyed by all attendees, it’s going to be a night to remember filled with elegance and sparkle.

Meanwhile, at Homewood Grove, owners will be kick-starting the festive season with a wreathmaking workshop, perfect for adding a personal touch to their Christmas decorations. There will also be an array of Christmas drinks, lunches and carol services throughout December. A stand-out event in the calendar is a visit to nearby Greenacres Nursery for a special performance and carols to spread Christmas cheer.

At Strawberry Fields, Rangeford’s latest village, the community are excited for a joyous first Christmas in their new home. From Christmas parties and jumper days to a gin tasting event in collaboration with Cambridge Gin and a Boxing Day Buffet, there are a range of wonderful events taking place to celebrate the season and bring the newly moved in owners together.

In Pickering, North Yorkshire, owners at Mickle Hill are already enjoying the festive season as a close-knit community. From festive themed exercise classes, bingo and quiz nights to live music and the much-anticipated annual Christmas party, the Christmas buzz is well underway.

In addition, Rangeford’ s celebrity ambassadors Dr Dawn Harper, Wellbeing Ambassador and Dr Scott Miller, Vet Ambassador are also helping to spread the Christmas cheer by visiting the villages and meeting owners throughout the Christmas period.

Commenting on the Christmas festivities at Rangeford’s villages, Howard Nankivell, CEO at Rangeford Villages says: “It’s so important to us and all our village teams that the festive season is one filled with joy, celebration and community for our owners. It can be a tough time for many, but our calendar of events and activities create a supportive and friendly environment for everyone to come together and have a fantastic time. It certainly helps that all the villages are beautifully decorated for the season too. We look forward to a successful 2026.”
