March Isolation Round Up

When this year started we envisioned 2020 to be a little bit different….

At Rangeford Villages we had lots of exciting plans for the spring and summer months which we have postponed in light of the current stay at home and isolation requirements.  Instead we have adapted every way possible and our team on the ground at Wadswick Green have been amazing making sure our owners are prepared, active and engaged.

Since the recommended lockdown we have changed up our usual services and introduce some new ones:

A pop-up village shop was created so we could ensuring our owners have access to the supplies (and treats), reducing the need to leave the safe environment of the village.

The first of many additional benches were installed within the 25 acre grounds for resident use when out on their daily allocated exercise.

And to keep spirits high, the staff and owners participated in a round of applause as tribute to the NHS Front Line Workers.

Our March ‘View from Your Balcony’ Photograph Competition was successful with over 20 entries from the owners.  There was much debate to get down to the Top 3! The prize for 1st place is to have their framed photo displayed in the Village Hall.  April’s View from Your Balcony theme is ‘Spring’.

Possibly our favourite –  To help keep the owners active we introduced weekly Courtyard/Corridor Zumba:

As well as all of the above, we have adapted in many other ways:

  • Qi-gong live stream classes twice a week
  • Aerobics Youtube links
  • Weekly puzzles and brainteasers
  • Craft Packs available
  • Fresh bread baked in-house by The Greenhouse available in the village shop
  • Refreshments available every day – Residents can grab a takeaway coffee whilst out on their daily walks
  • Weekly NHS based exercise routine for all ages and abilities

On a final note our Wadswick Green Residents will be having some new neighbours this summer – their first Bee Hive has been installed and our bee keeper is making preparations for the first colonies to arrive.

We will be back with some more isolation insights over the coming weeks.
