Rangeford Villages Breaks Ground for Homewood Grove, Chertsey’s Lifestyle Village for the over 60’s

Award-winning later living specialist Rangeford Villages hosted a ground-breaking event on 18 May, in the presence of local Councillor Theresa Burton, to mark the launch of a brand-new lifestyle focused community for the over 60s, Homewood Grove, near desirable Chertsey in Surrey.

Situated on a 4.7 acre brownfield site on the outskirts of town, Homewood Grove will consist of 116 one, two and three bed apartments, ranging from 700 sq. ft to 1,200 sq.ft. Willmott Dixon has been appointed to complete the £43 million construction, which is scheduled to be completed in Spring 2024 with the sales launch early 2023.

Marking the occasion Howard Nankivell, Chief Executive Officer at Rangeford Villages said “In line with regional demand for high-quality, as well as eco-friendly living solutions for the over 60’s, we are delighted to have commenced construction and to be working with Willmott Dixon as our main contractor for the project. Developments such as Homewood Grove, form a crucial part of our future housing provision in the UK and our teams are looking forward to establishing Homewood Grove as an exciting addition to the local community.”

The properties will be highly energy efficient and will include modern features such as underfloor heating, double-glazed picture windows and an all-electric energy system to help lower bills and reduce the environmental impact. Electric car charging points, an electric pool car as well as communal transport will all be available for owners’ use.

Residents will also benefit from a number of state-of-the-art amenities, including a wellbeing centre (pool, steam room and sauna), gym, dance studio, bistro and bar, a members’ lounge, village hall and a hair and beauty salon. The community will be staffed 24/7, and each home will be fitted with electronic tablets to receive updates on activities and social clubs at the village and to request emergency assistance.

As with previous developments, Rangeford Villages has financial backing from Octopus Real Estate. Part of the Octopus Group and a leading investor in healthcare facilities throughout the UK and Ireland. Once completed, Homewood Grove will be operated by Rangeford. The established partnership between Rangeford and Octopus Real Estate, and has already led to the creation of three villages across the UK, Wadswick Green in Wiltshire , Mickle Hill in North Yorkshire , and Siddington Park in Cirencester.
