Rangeford Villages’ Homewood Grove Give a Gift campaign delivers gifts to the Children of St Peter’s Hospital

Last Christmas, our Homewood Grove retirement village wanted to spread some Christmas cheer with a ‘Gift a Gift’ campaign, which aimed to support the hospitalised youngsters at the children’s Ash and Oak wards at St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey, by delivering a gift to every child, ensuring that no child would wake up in hospital on Christmas morning without a present to open.

Our campaign launched at the beginning of December and ran until December 22, where we invited local people and friends of Homewood Grove to donate items for the under-fives all the way to 18-year-olds, including things such as puzzles, books or colouring books, travel-sized toiletries and bathroom essentials, fluffy socks, and scarves.

We’re delighted to announce that our elves delivered all the gifts safely in time for Christmas!

Izabela Wakula, the Play Services coordinator at the hospital, and her colleague Moira were kind enough to take in the gifts and take some photos for us. Izabela went on to say:

“Thank you so much for all your effort—there has been so much donated to is this year! We are so extremely lucky to have amazing friends like you!”

A massive thank you to everyone who donated something towards the campaign. The amount of generosity shown was outstanding, and we look forward to doing it all again this year!
