Waswick Green Celebrates VE Day

Wadswick Green made VE Day celebrations for its owners in lockdown even more special with staff delivering afternoon cream teas for every resident to enjoy. Scones were made fresh by Head Chef Darren Sharpe and accompanied with a selection of tea and traditional clotted cream and jam, and the Village terrace was decorated with Union Jack flags and bunting to mark the occasion.

Lovely feedback and appreciation was sent to our team, which makes it all worthwhile.

“What a lovely surprise on Friday to receive the cream teas for VE Day celebrations.  Thank you very much for your kind thought and also to your amazing team who made it happen – as they are making so much happen currently to keep us all safe and happy.
We are so fortunate to have chosen Wadswick Green as our home, and particularly under the current circumstances we are aware how wise that choice was.
Every good wish to you all, you are dear friends Clare, Wadswick Green resident

Maureen and Keith added: “We are writing to you as you delivered our surprise gift. Please pass on our thanks to all concerned as it was a very thoughtful gesture.
We ate it at lunchtime, sitting on our balcony, and it was delicious. We should have joined our youngest daughter and family today for a street party so the cream tea was a welcome substitute. Thanks again.”
